In 2011 I took up a 2 week placement within the Faculty of Biological Sciences, School of Biomedical Sciences. Since completing this initial project, I have completed a number of smaller projects, including software to enable (i) 3D graphical representation of localised Ca2+ release events superimposed on the image of the source cell (ii) analysis of Ca2+ transient properties in line scan confocal images (iii) fast Fourier transform analysis of cardiac cell sarcomere length.  Most of these programs were written as plugins for ImageJ, an open source image analysis platform.
